High Speed
Options
The standard
speeds will provide bending cycles at
approximately 1000 per hour in normal set up.
Safety Reminder: The stopping distance for this
RAM is relative to its speed and as speeds
increase so does its stopping distance. This can
create a disadvantage when setting point of
operation guards.
Optional
Speeds
Option 1 - 45 Ton 140/30/230 10 horsepower
Option 1 - 70 Ton 135/25/200 10 horsepower
Option 2 - 45 Ton 140/40/230 15 horsepower
Option 2 - 70 Ton 135/35/200 15 horsepower
Point of
Operation Guarding
The machine must not be operated without point of
operation guarding. It is the responsibility of
the user to insure the machine is operated safely
and has appropriate guards for the type of work
being performed. The manufacturer can not satisfy
the guarding requirements for the many and varied
applications these machines can perform. The
manufacturer will assist the purchaser with his
selection of guarding and will offer factory
installation of the guarding selected by the
purchaser.

Hydrapower
Hydra Mechanical Design
Twin Toggle Link Mechanism (patents applied for)
Unique advantages:
All other
Hydra mechanical linkage designs, torque tube
designs and mechanical crankshaft designs
transmit the bending tonnage through their
bearings every stroke, regardless of whether the
work is "off center" or not. The
hydrapower twin toggle link does not suffer any
load or wear during normal bending and only
transmits forces when there is a substantial
"off center" load.
Comparisons
- Torque
Tube and Rear Mounted Cylinder Designs.
These transmit load through all their
bearings every stroke and with "Off
Center" loads they generate
torsional forces in the frame. With a
large "Off Center" load they
will twist and lift a foot off the floor.
- Horizontal
Cylinders and Double Crank Design. These
also transmit load through all their
bearings every stroke unless it is offset
to the end with the input link. Their
horizontal cylinder has longer stroke and
by running in a horizontal condition
means the Piston and Rod wears on the
bottom services, the vertical cylinders
do not.
- Crankshaft
Design. These also transmit load through
their bearings every stroke but stroke
lengths are usually a limitation as are
stroke control and tonnage control
options.
Center
Line Loading
The
Hydrapower Hydra Mechanical has true "Center
Line Loading" with the cylinder input forces
on the side frame center lines and tooling center
line. In addition, all the linkage forces all are
on the tooling center line and only in the
vertical plane.
No horizontal
or misdirected forces exist because the two side
frame mounted cylinders are not attached to the
mechanism. Their force goes directly into the RAM
vertically on the tooling center line and the
side frame center line.

Controls
- High
Speed Control Rod can be readily raised
or lowered to provide high speed in the
approach and return directions.
- Top
of Stroke Cam adjusts up and down the bar
to allow swift changes in open height.
Tonnage Control Indicator provides
adjustment of tonnage capacity to protect
tooling against overload.
- Bottom
of Stroke Digital Read-Out adjusts shut
height for precise control of bend angle.
Bottom of stroke is referenced to the
dies and provides constant position
regardless of tonnage changes.
- Extra
Long Slides
To ensure longer life and greater
accuracy the machines are equipped with
very long slides. When the housings are
being machined for the slides, a
reference level surface is also machined
at the same time to enable the slides to
be accurately realigned when the press
brake is being installed. The slides
require no lubrication and run with zero
clearance to insure front to back
precision within .001".

Construction
Features
The frame and
all attachments are fabricated from high-quality
steel to produce a virtually indestructible
assembly.
The hydraulic
cylinders are connected to the RAM with hardened,
self aligning, spherical thrust bearings which
provide exceptionally long service without the
need for lubrication. Deflections and overloads
in the frame and housing have no effect on
cylinder and slide alignment.
The hydraulic
system involves less valves than most other press
brakes and reflects the simplicity and
convenience of service which we design into the
machine.
The electric
system is supplied to UL and CSA requirements and
it is designed for ease of service. A weather-proof
panel contains operating push buttons, switches
and motor starters. A safety disconnect is
interlocked in the panel door.
